Starlings were fouling the yachts inside the Marina. The Harbourmaster contacted us to provide a solution using Falconry Bird control measures to cure this problem. The Tall masts of the Yachts were providing an excellent safe perching place for the birds. After they had gorged on the large crop of berries fruiting from the numerous hedges found on the sea wall, Marina clients were having to clean their boats every day to prevent staining to the decks from the starlings mauve coloured droppings.
We Flew Harris hawks and Lanner falcons to deter the starlings from settling on the high masts, and a 9mm blank firing pistol proved an effective addition to this particular problem. Marina clients were informing us of a great improvement within two weeks and we cleared the starlings within our specified costing.
